Disney Unveils New 'Phineas and Ferb' Month-Long Campaign

Perry the Platypus/Agent P in "Phineas and Ferb's" "Sidetracked" airing March 1

As a gear-up to Disney's third "National Platypus Day" on March 2, Perry the Platypus/Agent P makes his return in a new episode, and THR has the first look.

Disney Channel's animated comedy Phineas and Ferb will be getting a musical spotlight.

In conjunction with Disney's month-long kick-off to its third "National Platypus Day" in early March, a new song, "O.W.C.A." (which stands for Organization Without a Cool Acronym), inspired by the "Y.M.C.A." tune debuted on Radio Disney early Friday morning.
The Hollywood Reporter has the first look at the official music video featuring Disney stars like Bridgit Mendler, Debby Ryan and Zendaya that will make its TV debut on Disney Channel during 8-8:30 p.m. It will appear on Disney XD beginning Feb. 18 during the 8-9 p.m. hour. (Watch the video below.)
Additionally, Disney's popular secret agent, Perry the Platypus/Agent P, will return in time for National Platypus Day on March 2 in a special Phineas and Ferb episode, "Sidetracked," airing 9 p.m. on March 1. The episode will also introduce a new O.W.C.A. agent from Canada and an enemy. THR has an exclusive image of Perry the Platypus' return to the animated series.
Disney XD also will debut a new Phineas and Ferb episode, "Primal Perry," at 8 a.m. on March 2.
Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, creators of Phineas and Ferb, are set to host a top-30 countdown Feb. 23 and 24, and will join Radio Disney's Ernie D on March 1.
Disney is also teaming with Subway through April 14 for a Phineas and Ferb-themed campaign.
This is the third National Platypus Day.

Fresh on the heels of introducing Phineas and Ferb sugary snacks across Epcot, the popular Disney Channel duo has partnered with Subway. Replacing the long run with Wreck-It Ralph, Phineas, Ferb, and Perry the Platypus will be featured on Fresh Fit kids meal bags. Each of the six unique bag designs will feature a code for to download a Phineas and Ferb episode, app or song and a make your own wallet. The promotion deal is two-fold. P&E returns for a new season on Disney Channel begging in March, while Subway is looking to capitalize on the popularity of the show to draw customers. Bags should be available in Subway locations now.

Downtown Disney Marketplace Bus station is closing for refurbishment

WDW Magic reports that the bus station at Downtown Disney's Marketplace area will be closing for refurbishment from February 3rd through 24th. The nearest stop is in the not-too-close Pleasure Island area.

20th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival March 6th - May 19th

20^th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Promises Floral Fantasy and Topiary Triumphs from March 6 – May 19, 2013

 

 The Fab Five are having a party, and everyone’s invited to join the fun during the 20^th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival March 6-May 19, 2013 at Walt Disney World Resort.  Colorful, whimsical topiaries of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck will welcome topiary Daisy to their Epcot front-entrance celebratory barbecue.  The 14-foot-tall topiary Goofy will bobble an anniversary cake while Donald and Daisy play badminton, Mickey fires up the grill, Pluto swipes a link of hot dogs and Minnie chills out on a colorful blanket of blossoms.
And that’s just the festival opener.  New topiaries, gardens, children’s play areas and interactive gardening seminars will set the stage for 75 days of festival fun as Disney’s horticulture team revs up for its 20^th year of beautiful blooms and creative whimsy.
For the first year ever, Mike and Sully from DisneyŸPixar “Monsters Inc.” will join the festivities with their DisneyŸPixar “Monsters University” topiary on the walkway from Future World to the park’s World Showcase.  A new DisneyŸPixar “Cars” playground– Radiator Springs–brings favorite movie characters to life in topiary on the Test Track Walkway.  And 2013′s Fawn’s Butterfly House flits to life with hundreds of butterflies and eight fairy topiaries including Tinker Bell, Fawn, Vidia and Terrence.
The opening weekend Flower Power Concert Series at America Gardens Theatre will present fan favorite Micky Dolenz (“I’m a Believer”) March 8-10.  Other pop acts set to perform include Chubby Checker & the Wildcats, The Guess Who, Paul Revere & The Raiders and Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone.
More than 100 topiaries, 240 floating mini-gardens, dozens of flower towers and sweeping beds of multi-colored blooms will add floral splendor to the park landscape.  Daily hands-on gardening seminars, HGTV celebrity presentations, and other Festival Center events will offer innovative ideas, design tips and gardening know-how to park guests.

New Doofenslurper Frozen Drinks at Epcot

Riding the wave Phineas & Ferb popularity Disney has already replaced the Kim Possible adventure with a new Agent P interactive spy quest in Epcot.  To go along with the theme, they are introducing Phineas & Ferb based snacks which kids, and some adults, will gobble up.


Named for Dr. Doofenshmirtz, the clueless mad scientist from the popular Phineas and Ferb animated series on The Disney Channel, the Doof comes in three flavors. At Fife and Drum Tavern at American Adventure try the frozen blue raspberry topped with passion fruit sorbet foam. At Promenade Refreshments, it’s frozen lemonade topped with passion fruit sorbet foam. And at Cool post in the Africa area, sip frozen strawberry topped with passion fruit foam.

Agent P cookies and other treats are also available.
